EnteDerm helps to relieve your pets skin and ear infections when used as directed by your veterinarian. What is EnteDerm? This is an ointment that is applied to the skin or ears. It contains antibiotic, antifungal, and corticosteroid which helps to treat bacterial and yeast infections plus inflammation on the skin and in the ears. What are the benefits of EnteDerm? Used on the skin. Very gentle and readily accepted by most pets. Effective against fungal and bacterial infections in the ear and on the skin. Formulated for: cats and dogs. How is this medication given? Always follow your veterinarians exact instructions regarding the amount and frequency of use for EnteDerm. Be sure to wash your hands before and after each application. Wear gloves if your pet has a contagious condition or if you are pregnant. The hair around the skin lesion or ears may need to clipped in order to ensure proper application. If your pets ears are dirty, clean ears with a non-irritating ear cleanser and dry prior to instilling EnteDerm and massage ears to distribute medication evenly. Call your veterinarian if you have questions about how to use EnteDerm correctly. How does this medication work? The combination of active ingredients work to treat bacterial (Thiostreptin/Neomycin) and yeast infections (Nystatin) on the skin and in the ear(s). Triamcinolone is a corticosteroid that reduces inflammation and helps your pet to feel better. What results can I expect? EnteDerm treats acute and chronic ear infections (otitis) as well as superficial skin infections, interdigital cysts, and anal gland infections. Your pet should feel better and symptoms should resolve when EnteDerm is used as directed. What form(s) does EnteDerm come in? This is an ointment that is applied to the skin and ears. Generic Name: Nystatin + Neomycin + Thiostreptin + Triamcinolone (Common Drug Name) Common Brand Name: EnteDerm Dose and Administration: Use in the ears or on the skin as directed by your veterinarian. The ears or skin should be cleaned and possibly clipped prior to each application. Give a dose once you remember if you forget to give a scheduled dose but never double dose. EnteDerm should only be used on the pet it has been prescribed for. If you are unsure of how to use EnteDerm correctly, contact your veterinarian. Uses: EnteDerm is effective in the treatment of bacterial and fungal skin and ear infections, anal gland infections, and interdigital (between the toes) cysts. Possible Side Effects: Side effects are rare but some skin irritation has been reported. If your pets ear drum is ruptured and EnteDerm is applied, ataxia and other neurological symptoms may occur. An allergic reaction is possible in some pets. Other side effects may occur. Always contact your veterinarian at once if your pet acts unusual in any way while using EnteDerm. Drug and Food Interactions: Always discuss all medications or supplements your pet is taking with your veterinarian. Gentamicin, NSAIDs, and other corticosteroids may interact. Other interactions may occur. Precautions: Pets who are allergic to the active ingredients should not use EnteDerm. Do not give by mouth. Use on the skin only. If the ear drum is ruptured, EnteDerm cannot be used. Do not use with deep skin infections. Pregnant or lactating animals should not be given EnteDerm. Wear gloves if you are pregnant.
